Turn Over a New Leaf

Alyssa Milano

SUNDAY SCRIBBLINGS

TURN OVER A NEW LEAF!

Vegetarians! State your case!
Greenery to the fore!
Here's a dress made up of leaves
Sweeping to the floor.
They look like cabbage leaves to me,
Wonderfully uniform,
And clinging very charmingly
To a most curvaceous form.
So if you're turning over leaves
(And some are good to eat)
Become a vegetarian
And give up eating meat!

We ate as vegetarians tonight, a vegetable lasagne. Very tasty but I'm not sure I could bear to go without meat indefinitely however curvaceous your model here in leaves.

I have just been catching up on some of your posts. So enjoyable! I love the dress of greenery. Are you a vegetarian? I do not eat red meat or pork, so maybe I'm one. Harry's drawing is so creative!! Who would have thought of that? I love it. I also agree with you on browsing in book stores. We have a large Booka-A-Million here, also a Barnes And Noble. I just love the fact that they now have comfy chairs. I love your paraphrasing of the poem "What is life if full of care, we take no time to stop and stare" I'm going by memory, so I'm sure I don't have the origional words perfect. I run our church's 24/7 prayer and information hotline and when there's no current news, I put on a very short poem or devotional, or a little quiz or something. I have used that poem before. Your poems would be great for that. Today I put on a stanza from "A Dream Within A Dream", and likened this world to a dream and Heaven to the real thing.

I thought I would add this P.S. to my earlier post. You mention atheism as an interest in your profile. Does that mean you are you an atheist, or it is just an interest? In my blog from yesterday, I wrote a post on Atheists at Christmas, which I'm thinking may be of some interest to you.
